Principal's Message

Welcome back families!

NO SCHOOL MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH
LINCOLN’S DAY
SCHOOLS AND DISTRICT OFFICES CLOSED

Congratulations to Emma Hadzi-Kimov for taking first place in the Central Unified Spelling Bee! In addition, Daman Dhillon took third place. Awesome job to our wonderful students and their awesome coach---Mrs. Alikian.

Congratulations to our CVAL Winter Sports Champions!! Rio student/athletes won the boys 7th grade basketball championship. Also, our 7th girls basketball and 8th boys basketball took second place. Thanks to all parents, teachers, and staff that have come out to support our student/athletes this year.

As a community, we continue to collect “Pennies for Patients” in support of the Leukemia Society. The grade that brings in the most donations will have bleacher seats for the rally in April. In the individual competition, students can choose to collect donations by themselves to earn a prize. The top donating student will become Principal for the day, the second top donating student will become Vice Principal for the day and the top ten donating students will earn a pizza party.

JUST A REMINDER---Flowers, balloons, candy, or stuffed animals are NOT allowed on campus – NOT EVEN FOR VALENTINE’S DAY. Our focus remains on learning and the classroom. Thank you for understanding and discussing this with your student. Items will be confiscated and students will need to pick up the confiscated items at the end of the school day.
Joe M. Bracamonte, Principal
